Bosnian

Bosnian belongs to the South Slavic language group and it is a form of the Serbo-Croatian that was spoken in the Federation of Yugoslavia until the year 1992. It developed out of the common Slavic language that divided into individual dialect over time. There have been efforts to codify the Bosnian language over the last year, but since all language variations are used across Bosnia and Herzegovina (Serbian, Croatian, also Bosnian), it is quite hard to standardize a standard form of Bosnian.

But there are differences, mainly in the use of the “H” and “F” vowels and orientalisms in the colloquial speech (from Turkish and Arabic). It is one of the official languages in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a guaranteed language of minorities in Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, and Macedonia. It is predominantly spoken by Muslims.
