Romanian

It is a Romanic language that is spoken in Romania, Vojvodina, parts of Srbia and Moldova, where it is called Moldovan, due to political reason, but it is the same language.

Due to the arrival of the Romans at the beginning of the first millennium and the suppression of the Dacians, Vulgar Latin became the official language in this territory and it was neither further influenced by Church Latin, nor the other Romanic languages, therefore it developed independently. The greatest influenced had the Orthodox Church, Slavic languages and Turkish. Four dialects were thus created and they were all badly understandable to each other, the written Romanian developed from Daco-Romanian.

Only in the 19th century, Romanian purposefully adopted parts of words from French and Italian. As a curiosity, Romanian is the only Romanic language to use articles behind the word, instead of before it.
