Turkish

One of the Turkic language, specifically the Oghuz languages, related to, for example, Kazakh, Turkmen, Azerbaijani or Crymean Tatar; all of these having a common predecessor in the Proto-Turkic language. This language is spoken by more than 125 million people, it is an official language in Turkey, Cyprus and Macedonia. It is an acknowledged language of minorities in Bulgaria.  After the last reform in 1928, Turkish is written in Latin script, spelling is phonetic, uses 21 consonants and 8 vowels. It is an agglutination language, grammatical relationships and categories are expressed by “gluing” of prefixes and suffixes to the word stem. There are no grammatical genders. A typical feature of Turkish grammar is vocal harmony, therefore the prefixes have the same consonants as the word stem.
